Scientia
Veritas (SV) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a
contract to Assess and Evaluate Asbestos in Soils, by Parsons
Engineering Science. The contract calls for SV to provide
assistance to the Environmental Science Branch of the Air Force
Institute for Operational Health, Risk Analysis Directorate and the
Air Force Real Property Agency in assessing asbestos in soils at the
former Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. SV will provide
assistance in the evaluation of data, analysis of said data, and
providing a legally defensible strategy for addressing the asbestos
in soil issue.
SV
will provide expert technical assistance in the following areas:

Provide
input and review evaluation matrices for comparing sample data
with regulatory derived cleanup criteria as well as risk-based
developed data;
-
Provide
technical expertise and review to develop and implement a
methodology for evaluating asbestos in soil;
-
Provide
technical input and review to develop an asbestos soil
disturbance simulations work plan;
-
Implement
final soil disturbance simulations work plan;
-
Assist
in the development of a technical report;
-
Assist
in conducting a risk assessment using existing data, as well as
new data;
-
Provide
technical oversight of the risk assessment and technical review
of the document;
-
Present
results of field data and risk assessment; and
-
Review
briefings subject to regulatory and community review and input.

Assisting
in preparing and editing the draft and final technical report;
and
-
Participating
in weekly conference calls.
